Puff Daddy is cleared of all charges in Nightclub shooting incident

Rap superstar Sean 'Puffy' Combs was cleared of all charges this past friday (Mar. 16th) for his alledged participation of a shooting incident that took place in a NY nightclub last fall. Combs who is the founder of Bad Boy Entertainment (home of Bad Boy Records) said "I'm very emotional and at a loss right now" after walking out of the courthouse with his mother at his side.

His bodyguard Anthony ''Wolf'' Jones, was also acquitted of the same charges but protege rapper Jamal ''Shyne'' Barrow, who had been charged with attempted murder, wasn't so lucky as he was  convicted of two counts of assault in connection with the shooting of two people in the club in the early morning hours of Dec. 27, 1999. The trial lasted 7 weeks and Puff Daddy took to the stand in his defence which apparently made all the difference. Ex-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez was not called despite saying she would testify on his behalf if needed

Madonna's new video causes controversy with VH1/MTV again

MTV is in an uproar (again) regarding Madonna's latest video "What it feels like for a girl ".because it is too violent . Said a network representative "MTV and VH1 feel that the Madonna video is newsworthy and can be seen with proper context," but refused to detail just what made the video inappropriate for multiple viewings.

Madonna's spokesperson is hopeful the networks will reconsider. "We would like VH1 and MTV to make a very strong commitment to playing this video," the spokesperson said. "There are many other possibilities that we can explore but our first choice has always been for VH1 and MTV to play this video, and more than once however, the networks said the decision was final".

The video, directed by Madonna's husband, Guy Ritchie, is about an angry woman who goes on a crime spree. Madonna described the main character as a woman acting out a fantasy (personally I don't see what's all the fuss about you see that kind of violence on TV everyday.)

Newcomer Rez shines with debut single 'Golden boys'

Newcomer Res (pronounced Reese) is the latest young female artist to push the envelope of soul and rock with her brilliant release "Golden Boys" from her forthcoming album 'How I do'. The track kick starts into gear with a wicked drum and bass line with a rugged guitar lick to follow.

Her strong vocal cords will corner comparisons to the likes of Tracy Chapman and Me'Shel Ndegeochello but make no mistake this young lass shines on this track. The debut single is "Ice King" which is much in the same vain as "Golden Boys" which goes to radio this week. The album is set for a May release look out for it. You can hear both tracks on my internet radio show 'The Menu' on mixx96fm.com.
