Beyonce
wants to be the 'centre' of attention
-
Not another one showing her true 'diva' colours well you know you've
got clout when this happens. It's been reportedly recently that
Beyonce Knowles wants to be
the center of attention.
Apparently during a photo shoot for a famous magazine cover (the
mag we sharn't mention at this point), 3 of the biggest female stars
in the music industry of the last 15 years Janet
Jackson, Mary J Blige
and Beyonce herself were taking
pictures for this magazine's cover when Beyonce made a stink about
(get this) being in the middle of the picture.
Being the professionals (and true sports) that they are Janet
Jackson, Mary J Blige
granted her wish and gave her the centre position. Talk about being
spoiled? (well do remember that this is yet to be confirmed so don't
hold me to it!)

UPDATE:
Janet Jackson new release set for Mar 30th
- It
was reported recently that Janet's yet-to-be-titled album was slated
for a February release last year but her label Virgin has officially
set the date for March 30th. Janet who's been busy in the studio
working on tracks for the set will be seen on television screens
next month for the half time spectacle of the Super Bowl.
According to producer Dallas Austin
he promises her new album is "easily the most sexy thing she's
done. Guys won't know
what to do with themselves after this," he said, laughing at
the prospect. "It's one of the best records she's made."
Austin is quoted as saying
he's produced five songs with Janet already, having worked with
her over the last few months at his DARP Studios in Atlanta. He
went on to say that he and Janet will record for another month before
deciding which songs make the final cut. Janet is also working with
longtime executive producers Jimmy Jam
and Terry Lewis.
The theme throughout the collaborations
of Dallas's tracks with Janet has been her bubbling sexuality. "To
me, this is her Dirty Mind," Austin explained, (referring to
the Prince album). "It's a really sexy record, but not in a
sensual way. It's bold, it's fun, it's really positive. Nobody's
sad, nobody's mad. It's just really fun songs where she happens
to be talking frankly about sex."

L.A.
Reid steps down as head of Arista
-
Just
4 years into the job and Antonio "L.A." Reid has step
down as the president and CEO of Arista Records. Reid a former
member of the groups Manchild
and The Deele (with former
LaFace partner Kenny 'Babyface'
Edmunds) in the 70s and 80s
reportedly lost $100 million over the past two years, a tall order
for one to follow in the footsteps of Arista original founder
and now head of J Records Clive Davis, prompting his departure.
Reid co-founded the Atlanta-based LaFace Records with fellow producer
Kenny 'Babyface'
Edmunds. The label, a joint
venture with Arista, launched the careers of TLC,
OutKast, Toni
Braxton and Usher.
In 2000, parent company BMG bought out LaFace and made Reid CEO
and president of Arista, which Davis (who that year reached BMG's
required retirement age) had run for twenty-five years.
It is reported that one of the motivating factors behind his departure
could be the impending merger between Sony and BMG, which owns
Arista. We wish Mr Reid all the best where ever he goes.
