February
is Black History month
-
Not that we need reminding of America's history when it comes to
our ancestors but for those of you who were not aware of it, next
month is black history month.
For the most part it's a time to brush up on your history of your
african american heritage but there's also other avenues of exploring
including music. America is famous for the birth of Jazz but the
blues also saw it's early beginnings in America.
There's plenty of music to wet your appetite at your favourite record
shop and a lot of them on sale to commemorate the month long celebration.
With the grammys just weeks away, you're sure to find a lot of your
favourite artists at very reasonable prices so be sure to stock
up on your favourite music next month and help celebrate black history.

Paul
McCartney to play at the Super Bowl half time show
-
After
last's year incident with Janet Jackson's
now infamous baring of her breast, the network who shows the game
CBS will be playing it safe this year by having former Beatle
and Wings front man Paul
McCartney play this years Super
Bowl half time show.
Sir Paul (as he's known nowadays in his native UK) will be the
only performer to perform this year with the singer expecting
to sing at least 3 maybe 4 songs but R&B princess Alicia
Keys will tackle the US National Anthem before the
game.
Even though it's a year
on, the after effects of the Janet incident is still being felt
today as it's rumoured that some TV commercials are being pulled
due to 'nature of the ad'. The commercial(s) have not yet been
shown but it's rumored that one of them involves a priest and
a car (can you believe it). The Super Bowl airs live on the
Fox channel at 6.20pm on Sunday February 5th between the New
England Patraits and the Philadelphia
Eagles. (let's go Eagles)
