Welcome return for 'Gemini' Sandra St. Victor

Sandra St.Victor was the shining sexy voice behind the group 'The Family Stand'  in the early 90s and shined ever so bright on their smash hit 'Ghetto Heaven'. Her solo debut set 'Mac Diva saves the world' released in '96 went virtually unnoticed to most of us but it was good nevertheless. Let's face it the girl is blessed with a voice.

Now 5 yrs on Sandra, a lil' older, a lil' wiser releases her sophomore effort 'Gemini - Both Sides' a true reflection of love and heartbreak from her soul. The singer/songwriter works with some of the biggest names in the industry with the likes of Roy Ayers, Donald Byrd and The Roots and tackles issues of the social and spiritual matter. Look for the set coming to your shelves next month.

Capitol Records have hinted that in the near future they will be issuing Maze's 'Live in New Orleans' concert on DVD. Capitol/The Right Stuff is gearing to release titles coming from deals with Solar, Philadelphia International, and Salsoul, as well as digging into their own vaults to release not only Maze's first DVD release but also a remix collection on First Choice, a Solar Records boxed set, a Whispers anthology, the Stylistics' "Hurry Up This Way Again," a compilation featuring the Songs of producers extraordinaire Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis and "Slow Jams Christmas, Vol. 3."

Other notables forthcoming  include "The Complete Caron Wheeler," set (props definitely due there), a Nancy Wilson boxed set commemorating her 50th year in entertainment, a Natalie Cole anthology, and reissues of two classic Minnie Ripperton albums, "Perfect Angel" and "Adventures in Paradise." that features one of my personal Minnie tracks 'Baby, this love I have'

Aaliyah's self-titled set drops July 17th

Aaliyah (whose given name is Aaliyah Naughton) is back with a new look, a new label (Virgin) and a new album. The self-titled set reflects a more personal, mature side to the sexy temptress who said "Yes it's all her own natural hair".

Timberland returns as producer on the album cooking up his usual array of crafty beats and synths and Aaliyah is truly in fine form. The first single is "We Need A Resolution." which went to radio a few weeks back and has garnered modest airplay across the board. Notable tracks include "Rock The Boat", "Those Were The Days" and "Loose rap" "Never No More" followed by the move slow groovers "I Care For You" and "It's whatever". The album will be in stores July 17th. Do get a copy you won't be disappointed
