Kenny Lattimore's 'Weekend' set drops
Oct 9th
The
man with the silky smooth chops Kenny
Lattimore will be delighting
a lot of his fans come Oct 9th with his debut release for Arista called 'Weekend'.
Kenny who wooed us with the luscious ballad 'For
you' and grooved us with 'Never
too busy' taken from his
debut self-titled Sony release back in '96 gives us another bankable set
with a host of great tracks featuring
the duet with former Motown princess Shanice
called 'Can you feel me'
and instant hits (in my opinion) that includes the Raphael
Saadiq penned and produced 'Come
to me' 'Lately'
produced by Vidal Davis
and Andre Harris
(Jill Scott, Damozel)
'Don't deserve' and 'Baby you are the one'
The
title cut and first single 'Weekend' has been well received across the land
and has been a No.1 track on my show 'The Menu's Top Ten @ 10' on mixx96fm.com.
After his last release 'The Soul of a Man' (which incidently was not well
received but a good LP nevertheless) 'Weekend' will please souls fans of all
ages with a little something that's available for everyone.

'America'
telethon raises $150 million for the cause
The
telethon "America - A
Tribute to Heroes" has raised an estimated
150 million dollars said the organizers of the event. The fund raiser
which aired this past Friday (Sept. 21st) on all the major networks
including ppv channel HBO had pledges made through the telethon's still active
tributetoheroes.com
Web site and to telephone numbers staffed by more than 38,000 volunteers
and automated operators in the United States and Canada alone reports billboard.com.
Once collected, the funds will benefit the United Way's September 11th
Fund, which will aid families of the
World Trade Center and
Pentagon
attack victims, with no administrative costs deducted. The organizers of
the event are also considering releasing a compact disc with some of the
telethon's musical numbers which includes performances of an
unrecorded song by Bruce
Springsteen, "My City of
Ruins," Neil Young
singing John Lennon's "Imagine," and
Wyclef Jean doing
Bob
Marley's "Redemption
Song,".
