for Sept 11th victims
The
reigning king of pop Michael
Jackson will produce the
forthcoming benefit song called "What
more can I give" which
will feature an all-star line up of entertainers from both music and movies.
Mr. Jackson is no stranger to the benefit gig after doing a similar fete in
1985 with the nostalgic "We
are the world"
co-produced by friend Quincy Jones. That record generated millions for the famine
relief effort in Africa and after last weeks telethon benefit which has
raised over $150 million. all hopes the same success with this effort.
The
line up of who's taking part is still building but those who has committed
are Britney Spears, Destiny's Child's
Beyounce Knowles,
N'Sync, Jay
Z,

Artists
unite for "Artist for AIDS"
Speaking
of benefit tracks another one is on the horizon. On September 5 and 7 of this year,
just 4 days prior to the tragic event that shook the world, an ensemble cast of superstar artists
gathered in New York City to record a new version of Marvin Gaye's
timeless classic
chant "What's Going On," a record that called for
compassion, healing and love. The thought process at the time was to heighten the awareness and raise
funds for the fight against the AIDS virus in Africa
In
light of the tragic terrorist attacks on the States this past
September 11, Artists Against AIDS
Worldwide, (aka AAA
Worldwide) realizing the recording's
powerful healing message extended beyond the scope of the project's original
aim, decided to donate 50% of its proceeds to The United Way's September
11th Fund and 50% to the AIDS relief effort which includes the Global AIDS
Alliance, among others
The
line up of acts is very impressive: Christina
Aguilera , Backstreet Boys
, Mary J. Blige , Bono (of U2) , Destiny's Child ,
Jermaine Dupri , Fred Durst , Eve , Nelly Furtado ,
Nona Gaye (Marvin's daughter) , Darren Hayes , Ja Rule ,
Wyclef Jean ,
Alicia Keys , Aaron Lewis , Lil' Kim , Jennifer
Lopez ,
Nas , Nelly, N'Sync , P Diddy , ?uestlove,
Britney Spears , Gwen Stefani & THE Michael Stipe Band
and the producers are just as impressive with the likes of U2's Bono, Puff
Daddy, Jermaine Dupri and Fred Durst (of Limp Bizkit). The timeless track
has already gone to radio and will be in stores October 23rd. Go get it
(it's tight all the way around)

Amel
Larrieux's back in the studio
The
beautiful and talented Amel
Larrieux is back in the
studio again to start recording the sophomore follow-up to her debut solo
smash "Infinite
Possibilities"
She's currently penning songs for the album will have the same production
team on hand as she did with her first LP.
Currently
you can hear her on the newly recorded track 'Glitches'
featuring The Roots
taken from the forthcoming Sony/Heineken compilation "Red
Star Sounds Vol.1 - Soul Searching."
in stores Oct 9th.
The
former lead sonstress of Groove
Theory was destined for great
things with her introduction to the world on the group's debut hit 'Tell
me' and although it came as a
surprise for most (myself included) for the group to split up, Amel truly
shined on her solo debut effort with tracks like 'Get
up' and I
'n' I.

Erick
Sermon in stable condition following car accident.
Rapper/Producer
Erick Sermon
is in critical but stable condition following a horrific car
accident Tuesday (Sept 25th). The young rap pioneer was on his way
home from a video shoot when said a spokesman for his record label "he
apparently fell asleep at the wheel and slammed his Mercedes-Benz into a
cement divider on a highway". He suffered broken bones and internal
bleeding.
Sermon regained
consciousness on Thursday (Sept 27th) but remained hospitalized at St.
Joseph's in Patterson, New Jersey. He can't speak because his jaw has been
wired shut. "He's going to make it, but it's going to be a long road to
recovery," the spokesperson added.
