Zhane split up, Jean 'n' Renee goes solo

Zhane's Jean Norris and Renee Neutville have gone their seperate  ways. The duo who came to providence in '94 with the smashs "Hey Mr DJ", "Groove Thing" and in '96 with "Request Line" according to producer Kay Dee wasn't getting along and wanted to go in different directions.

Jean has since gone on to write tracks for Mary J. Blige and Melky Sedeck as well as working on material for her own solo project while Renee has just put the finishing touches on her debut album on SAI records that's due out in January. Tracks from the album has already found airplay on London's Choice FM and they are brilliant will definitely play them to death once I get my hands on a copy so keep in touch.

Aaron Soul has his own style

You heard right, one of the hottest singers to emerge on the bubbling UK r n b scene is Aaron Soul. The 20 year old Londoner who's mom made up one third of the 70's lovers rock group Brown Sugar has been compared to fellow Londoner Craig David but his vocal style is truly all his own which makes him uniquely British.

Signed to Def Soul UK (the sister label to the famous US label) Aaron is  the first artist to release a single "Ring, ring, ring" on Def Soul UK. Blending together a dose of soul, ragga, garage and reggae Mr. Soul more than holds the potential to stand toe to toe with his American counterparts. A name to watch then? Most definitely.

Expansion releases 'Soul Togetherness - Vol.2"

Soul Togetherness in true spiritThe lads over at Expansion Records are at it again. With the excellent response to the first volume of Soul Togetherness, they have decided to release the second volume in the series. Just like the first Soul Togetherness, Vol.2 bridges the gap between old and modern soul gems with the likes of Rahssan Patterson - I'll go, Reggie Calloway (of Midnight Star fame) - Bring back the love, Camille Hinds - Closer to the Source, Al Green - Keep on pushing love, Al Hudson and Partners - When you're gone, The Spinners - I just want to fall in love and much more.

I'll have a copy of it by next week to play for your listening pleasure so be sure to tune in when you can. There are some fantastic tracks on this set so do yourself a favour and get yourself a copy (you won't be disappointed if you're a true lover of great soul music.) .
