'Quiet
Beatle' George Harrison passes away
George
Harrison, the Quiet Beatles', lead guitarist and kindred spirit passed away
last Thursday at the age of 58. Mr. Harrison died at 1:30 p.m. at a friend's
Los Angeles house following a long term battle with cancer, longtime friend
Gavin De Becker said late yesterday. Harrison's wife, Olivia Harrison, and
son Dhani, 24, were both at his side when he passes away..
"He left this world as he lived in it, conscious of God, fearless of
death, and at peace, surrounded by family and friends," the Harrison
family said in a statement. "He often said, `Everything else can wait
but the search for God cannot wait, and love one another."
The story of his rise to fame is one of true merit, he helped change the
sound of rock and roll music as part of the infamous band 'The Beatles'
who as a unit has sold more albums than any other band in music history and
now reside immortal among rock and roll's elite treasures. I remember
listening to The Beatles as a young lad growing up in London and must admit
that for it's time it was a different kind of music compared to the rock/pop
music of it's era but they took the world by storm and never looked back. He
will be sorely missed. My condolences to his family on this a tragic time
for them.
