LA Times reports Notorious B.I.G behind 2Pac's murder

It has been reported according to today's LA Times, that after a year-long investigation the late Notorious B.I.G. (aka Christopher Wallace) is the man responsible in the killing of his rival TuPac Shakur back in 1996 in Las Vegas. In an explosive 2-part story, evidence gathered by the paper indicates: The shooting was carried out by a Compton gang called the Southside Crips to avenge the beating of one of its members by Shakur a few hours prior. The paper said that Orlando Anderson, the Crip whom Shakur had attacked, fired the fatal shots. Las Vegas police discounted Anderson as a suspect and interviewed him only once, briefly. He was later killed in an unrelated gang shooting.

The murder weapon was apparently supplied by the New York rapper
Notorious B.I.G., who agreed to pay the Crips $1 million for the killing of Tupac Shakur. It's been widely noted that Notorious B.I.G. and 2Pac had been feuding for more than a year, exchanging insults on recordings and at award shows and concerts. B.I.G. was gunned down six months later in Los Angeles. That killing also remains unsolved.

Today's story concludes by detailing the fact that three gang members who were riding in the infamous white Cadillac that Anderson allegedly fired the shots from, still live in Compton and, interestingly enough, none of them has ever been questioned by police about the crime.

In tomorrow's part 2, the Times will detail why the police investigation has foundered. To read the full story, go here:

Suge Knight's 'Tha Row' label to release Lisa Lopez abum

Recently paroled Suge Knight, the founder of Death Row Records who recently signed a distribution deal with Koch Records, plans to release the long awaited and talked about second album by Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes on his new label Tha Row in October, this is according to a spokesperson for the once gang member executive.

Left Eye's first solo venture,
Supernova, was released overseas by Arista Records last year and streamed on her Web site,
www.eyenetics.com, but it was not released in America. Lisa aligned herself with Suge at the beginning of this year and was recording an album for Tha Row under the moniker N.I.N.A. shortly before her death in April. No details on the N.I.N.A. project have been released as of yet, and Knight was unavailable for comment. Left Eye will also be heard on the new LP by her group, TLC. Arista Records has set a November 12 release date for that album.

Americans vote for their new 'Idol'

Throughout the years I've seen TV talent shows such as Starsearch make a nobody into a somebody and it's a wonderful thing f(or moral and character) but the system is never perfect because you have judges who votes and sometimes they don't get it right. Well with that said, enter the latest edition to be added to the talent show list of TV shows - 'American Idol'. To be honest I haven't followed the show throughout but I caught on a couple of weeks ago when there were 5 contestants or 'finalists' as they were so to speak. The show is controlled by Americans who call in to vote for their favourite singer.

RJ Helton, Tamyra Grey, Nikki McKibbin, Justin Guarini and Kelly Clarkson were the final 5 and upon seeing all 5, the clear cut winner to me was Tamyra Grey who's statue and poise made her the one to watch.  She was voted in 4th place behind Nikki who was 3rd and Justin who was 2nd. The winner was Kelly who can carry a tune deserved to win against Justin but for me just didn't have that presence. So yet again it goes to show that talent alone just doesn't cut it where these shows are concerned you look cute and pretty or handsome (so be the case for the fella) you stand a good chance to win a competition. Well congratulations to Kelly her new single drops on the 17th of this month and the album to follow in November.

Tamyra lands on her feet with a production deal

And speaking of Tamyra, just a week after her shocking exit from 'American Idol,' the 23-year-old Tamyra has signed a management deal with one of the show's producers, her first step on the path to a music career.

19 Entertainment has picked up an option to manage the Atlanta singer, who was considered by fans and the judges to be a shoo-in for one of the final slots, if not the potential winner. Finalists on the show are barred from releasing any music until three months after the winner has put out his/her CD. With an expected September release for the single from the "Idol" champion, Gray said her debut won't likely hit shelves until next year. She has not yet started recording an album.

19 was founded by "American Idol" creator
Simon Fuller, the British talent manager who formed and managed Dancing Danny D, the Spice Girls and S Club 7 and helped steer former Eurythmics singer Annie Lennox's solo career. The ouster of Gray last Wednesday seemed to catch everyone by surprise, with judge Paula Abdul on the verge of tears at the announcement. Judge Randy Jackson (not Michael's brother) vowed to do anything he possibly could to help Gray's career, as did resident British meanie, Simon Cowell, (who signed on to be a judge on the upcoming Idol2 for a reported $1,000,000) vowing that America has not seen the last of the singer. "Watch this space," he said mysteriously.

Gray, however, said she wasn't surprised. "I was prepared for it," the perpetually chipper singer said. "I knew my performance on Tuesday night was not as strong as it could have been. Out of all three, I was the weakest." During the commercial break before Wednesday's cut was announced, Gray said she told fellow low-vote getter
Nikki McKibbin that "she had nothing to worry about and that I would be the one to go.

Sept 11th remembered...

This Wednesday marks the one year anniversary of the day America stood still. As we all know, on  Sept 11th 2001 America was attacked in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania with four deadly plane crashes that depleted the World Trade Center's 'Twin Towers' and severely damaged the Pentagon. Several thousand people lost their lives that day and the world will never be the same again because of it.

There will be a special memorial and service for all those who perished in the tragedy and newspapers, news wire  services  and TV media services alike will be reflecting the tragic day with articles and special reports throughout the day. Security at airports and train stations will be monitored with extra care and precaution throughout the nation as Americans prepare to remember. My condolences and prayers goes out to those who lost a mother, father, sister, brother, aunt, uncle, grandmother and grandfather that day. May god be with you.
