The front woman of Destinys
Child steps out on her own too. After seeing group members
Michelle and Kelly
score successful debut solo albums, it was only a matter of time before
Beyonce would get the solo bug.
Beautiful Beyonce is scorching
right now fresh off the success of her motion picture debut in Austin
Powers: Goldmember,
she's just finished her album called 'Dangerously
in Love'.
The track I'm reviewing here
is the remake originally sung by Donny Hathaway
and Roberta Flack 'Closer
I get to you'. The classic ballad gets some new life pumped
into it with Beyonce and Luther adding a more modern feel. Beyonce
never sounded better as she progresses to grow with her voice as she
settles into the lyrics and with Luther playing the role of the legendary
Donny Hathaway, you know no other
voice was better suited for the track.
I'm not one to believe in the
classics being revamped but I must say that this one warrants merit
for credibility and poise to make a dent in the playlists of 'quiet
storm' radio formats across the country.
The album will be released on
the 24th and the word of mouth is that it's going to be a big success
for the Houston native and send the already flying high gal even higher
(although that remains to be seen).
The song can also be found on
Luther's latest CD 'Dance with my Father'
out now which is also getting rave reviews
Listen to Beyonce
& Luther's 'Closer
I get to you'
