One of the smoothest R&B
singers out at the moment is Rell
who returns once again with another gem of an effort from the soul
side of the Roc-a-Fella camp.
He originally drops his debut single 'Love
for Free' back in 1999 but the debut album has yet to see
the light of day.
The 26- year-old, South Carolina
Native, signed with the Roc-a-Fella
label that year and they've been dragging their feet on releasing
his project to focus more on their rap division that includes founders/producers
Damon Dash,
Kareem “Biggs”
Burke and multi- platinum rapper
Jay – Z (to name a few).
But Rell states he still has
love for the label even though he's playing the waiting game the last
4 years “I’m glad to be with Roc-a- Fella, a young company that’s
growing, I feel blessed.” The singer/songwriter gets much of his inspiration
from the sounds of the original 70s Soul, Blues and
Jazz. Some of his favorites include legendary performers Donnie
Hathaway and Stevie Wonder.
Let
me Show You is a classic soul tune that emphasize the words
'Good Times' throughout. Armed with a thumping baseline, soft
toned morg keys and synths to boot, Rell's baritone vocal chops takes
control of the written words to deliver a sweet performance with the
greatest of ease. A brilliant Summer/Autumn song to bop your head
to.
Taken from the self-titled forthcoming
album which is expected to drop at the end of the year , Rell’s smooth
vocals, and moving lyrics awaits the general public to sample and
mosey over just how long we have to wait is yet to be determined.
A TY-D
pick indeed.

me show you'
