Starting off this new year's review is a young lady who's making a lot of noise for herself on this side of the pond. Hil St Soul (given name: Hilary Mwelwa) was born in Zambia and now resides in North London and her last release 'Til you come back to me ' (a cover of the Aretha Franklin classic) was voted the No.1 track among Jazz station formats here in the states last year and she follows up on that impressive release with a more impressive track (to me anyway) in her 2nd single 'Paradise ' from her debut release CD 'Soul Organic ' 

The song has that laid back vibe that's come accustomed to the young lady resume, combining piano and strings in harmony and with a remix version featuring guitarist Marc Antoine strutting his thing makes this track an instant winner on all levels.

Not to be overlooked is her debut album 'Soul Organic ' that features hit after hit including 'Strictly a Vibe Thing ', 'Nostalgia ' and 'Just a matter of time '. Well worth picking up but again you can only purchase it either in Europe or on line  so I urge you to get a copy of this disc I guarantee you that it's money well spent. Kwame Kwaten and the gang of D'Influence are back (and rightfully so) to grace us with the sweet sound of their music. They haveinked a deal and  signed with Dome Records (in the UK) and are set to release the debut CD album entitled 'D-Vas ', a 15-track set that features 11 different female vocalists all of whom have been produced by D'Influence at some point in their careers. 

The likes of  former D'Influencer Sarah Anne Webb, Shola Ama, Romina Johnson, Julie Ann Evans and Dee C. Lee get to strut their stuff with newcomers such as Belle Montenegro and Dyanna Fearon (niece of 80's hitmaker Phil Fearon of 'Galaxy' fame). 

All but two of the songs will be written by D'Influence, with the exception of Romina Johnson's remake of Gladys Knight's 'Taste Of Bitter Love'. 

The disc will be released on March 18 (in Europe) on Dome Records so be sure to look out for it. No scheduled release for the states as of yet but I'll keep you posted as soon as it becomes available.
